Entry Requirements

The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.

Since 2013 the HSE no longer provides any form of approval for first aid training providers. The responsibility lies squarely with the employer so beware of providers claiming to be “HSE approved” as there is no such system in place.
To comply with the First Aid Regulations 1981, an employer must go through a due diligence process when selecting a First Aid training provider. It’s not simply a case of buying a course.  It is the employers responsibility to  check that the person delivering the training has the correct qualifications in place and that they have appropriate internal quality and monitoring systems ( link to HSE site).
If you select an Ofqual regulated provider you are able to demonstrate due diligence because these checks have been completed for you.  Are you also aware that the HSE guidance includes annual 3hr refresher training for your FAW trained employees?
